Those people who are negative must work for a jealous rival... there is no competition in this area, in this price range. The ladies who run BBQ Express do fantastic food. Everything they do is worth eating, EVERYTHING. Forget the burger, have anything, it's all good. I put my money where my mouth is, I work in the area and have to eat out about two to three times a week. BBQ Express gets my business at least one of those days a week! I do have the burger sometimes and it is home made and tasty, my favourite though is the BBQ Beef on a bun with fries and salad.

Maybe, maybe. Ya. I can admit when I'm wrong.

Also, though, haven't you never eaten meat? If that's the case (though I'm not sure it is) maybe I didn't believe you because you have no frame of reference?

Maybe now you at least somewhat can relate to my pov about this, regarding that convo about certain veggie burgers being "almost as good" as a real burger about 6 months ago! ESP given the vastly larger amounts of varieties & preparations I have sampled in 8 odd years of being a vegetarian, and allowing dairy/egg into the mix (this significantly helps things) :]

I walk by this place every day and have noticed that they have added more sauces (56+ sauces and counting, i'm sure) as well as unbreaded chicken products. I have yet to try the wings as I am not a fan of messiness and bones in meat.

If only they would add poutine to the menu, I would be a happy woman.

(BTW, this is the Chantel mentioned in Dave's original post.

I felt sorry about your disappointment.. but you can request them to have it not breaded as I know they have no breaded wings and even grill wings, as I try my grill wings today and it is awesome. But it do take longer time.. I wait for 20 min. Trust me next time.. try unbreaded wings and for sure you will be satisfied.

I had the 8oz. Hugo burger and I think it was one of the best burgers I've ever had in Toronto. The beef actually tasted like how beef should taste and not overly seasoned with herbs or spices - simple yet tasty, great texture, and juicy enough. Some negatives, the lettuce wasn't fresh, they ran out of some of the sauces offered (at least the ones I asked for) and would have preferred a bun that could hold up to the juicy meat and condiments, something more crusty and chewy instead of processed buns. Real cheese would be great to have as an option. I'd pay more for real cheese and fresh baked buns! Fries and onion rings were the standard frozen kind - guess it will do. (FYI, best hand made onion rings are at People's on Dupont but their burgers don't compare...too much oregano, Greek cooks hence the heavy oregano? Also way overpriced meals for what it's worth.)

I also had the wings and although it was tasty with plenty of great options for sauces and dry seasonings, I'm not a fan of the breading. I like wings extra crispy sans the batter or it needs to have a very light crispy coating. Once the sauce was on the wings the batter was spongy and soggy. The wings reminded me of the same kind sold at a Manchu Wok. Kind of a disappointment because of the breading but I can appreciate the variety of flavours. In fact, too many options that you don't know which one to try just based on their names...must have fun and sample them all on my burgers each time I go back. The service was genuinely friendly enough and efficient. Nothing worse than miserable servers with attitude. Service is just as important as good food, if you want people to come back and refer people to you.

Hey, I just wanted to say thanks for the review, I work at Wing Shop and its good to hear that people are liking the food. When you work there and get to have the food so often you get to try some interesting flavour combanations. My favourite burger right now is a regular or hugo with lettuce, fried onions, pickles and hot peppers, plus Mayo, a line of mustard, and sauces 39 and 52. I suggest people try it out and see what they think.

Also, I do suggest you try the wings, they are also pretty bad ass.

Thank you for the recommendations. I went to the restaurant yesterday. WoW, it tastes so good. The thing I like the most is the meet, so juicy, not dry dead meat at all. I ordered some wings as well, I have to say they have the best wings in Toronto. I will try other favors next time.
